Competition Law

The wide ranging experience that we have gained in the area of classic competition law (antitrust) includes advising on the shaping of compliance with competition law (conducting competition law audits, preparing compliance programs and guidelines in the case of raids by authorities) and representing our clients before the competition authorities in connection with applications for permits, with regards to agreements restricting competition and in cases involving dominance and the clearances of mergers.

Our legal representation also extends to proceedings before the courts initiated to review the decisions of the competition authority. In addition, we regularly provide the management, marketing and sales teams of our clients with training in the field of competition law.
The Firm regularly provides advice in connection with state aid and examines issues that concern contractual performance by businesses that received state aid in the course of acquisitions.

In addition to the above, the Firm has detailed and up-to-date experience in respect of legal counselling and representation in connection with enforcing claims in the field of unfair competition (e.g. infringement of business secrets, passing off).

Our experience extends to numerous industries and we have acquired substantial experience in the fields of financial services, pharmaceuticals, chemical products, oil and gas, power, alcohol, production of and trading in tobacco, soft drinks, cosmetics, appliances, sugar and other consumer products.

Our partner, Dr. Gusztáv Bacher, is the president of the Ligue Internationale du Droit de la Concurrence (International League of Competition Law , LIDC), which is a longstanding association focusing on the study of competition (antitrust) law, intellectual property law and unfair competition, both at the national and international levels.
