The Firm is one of the few law offices in Hungary to regularly advise on telecommunications and new technology issues, being cognizant of the need for keeping abreast of the constantly evolving business developments in these areas.

The Firm represented a major international telecommunications operator in connection with its participation in the tender organized by the Hungarian Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications and the Hungarian State Holding Company for the partial privatization of the Hungarian telecommunications sector. The Firm also advised the Hungarian State Holding Company in connection with the privatization of MATÁV, the Hungarian Telecommunications Company. The Firm recently acted as consultant to a bidder in connection with the tender issued by the Telecommunication Ministry for the use of the 1800 Mhz frequency bandwidth.

The Firm, in connection with an M&A transaction, has conducted legal due diligences of companies engaged in the development of sophisticated computer software and data processing technologies. In addition, the Firm advised software trading companies in connection with the preparation of software licence agreements.

The Firm closely monitors how the changing Hungarian legislation seeks to promote the security and trustworthiness of electronic-commerce. We have acted on behalf of our clients in connection with domain name registration and dispute resolution procedures. Additionally, in accordance with the requests of content providers, we have issued legal opinions on permitted web site content, prepared contracts (to financial services company clients or consumer product retailers) for the regulation of the terms and conditions relating to their electronic trading activities.
