PROFESSIONAL CAREER Dr. András Szecskay is the Managing Partner of Szecskay Attorneys at Law, a law firm with an international clientele and scope of activities. Dr. Szecskay received his JD, summa cum laude, from the Szeged University Law School in 1973 and has participated in a professional continuing education program in Canada. He has been practicing law as a member of the Budapest Bar Association since 1975. He was a partner at the SBG&K Patent and Law Office in Budapest between 1975 and 1992, and at the international law office of the French firm of Moquet Borde & Associés between 1992 and 2004. His firm’s practice encompasses all areas of commercial law. He has been an active member of the Budapest Bar Association, first as its secretary, then as a member of the Executive Board during several cycles and since March of 2002, as Vice-President of International Relations. In 2010 Dr. Szecskay was also made Vice President of the Hungarian Bar Association. In 2000, he was presented with the Eötvös Award; in 2002, he was recognized as an “Exemplary Lawyer”, and in 2008, the President of Hungary awarded Dr. Szecskay with the "Knight’s Cross Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary". Dr. Szecskay is actively involved in numerous international organizations (CCBE - Head of the Hungarian Delegation, UIA - member of the Executive Committee and national vice-president, IBA, LES, AIPPI, MIE - as President, LIDC, HVCA) and he regularly lectures at domestic and international conferences. He is the author or co-author of a number of articles on Hungarian and international corporate law, competition law, arbitration and IP law. He currently provides legal counsel in M&A transactions, corporate and project finance, litigation/arbitration and IP law. Dr. Szecskay is on the Roll of Recommended Arbitrators of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. His articles have appeared in international publications, such as Digest of Commercial Laws of the World (L. Nelson), Worldwide Trade Secrets Law (T.F. McLaren), International Banking Law & Regulation (Oceana Publications, Inc.) and Hungarian professional periodicals. Dr. Szecskay is fluent in English.
Dr. Judit Budai
PROFESSIONAL CAREER Dr. Judit Budai is a Hungarian attorney admitted to the Budapest Bar (1994). She received her JD, cum laude, from Eötvös Loránd Faculty of State and Legal Science in Budapest in 1991 and an MBA from the Budapest Economic University (BEU) in 1996 in a joint BEU/London Business School program and participated in an EC Law Post Graduate Program of the Center of European Law, School of Law, King's College London in 2004. She is a member of various professional organizations (UIA/President of the Banking Law Commission and Standing Member for Hungary of the M&A, Corporate and Financial Services Committees, Head of the Legal and Strategy Committee of the Hungarian Venture Capital Association, active member in LIDC and IBA). She is author of several articles and frequent speaker at conferences in M&A, corporate finance, competition law and capital markets areas. She was an associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges before associating with the Firm in 1992. Dr. Judit Gulás is a Hungarian attorney admitted to the Budapest Bar Association. She received her JD, cum laude, from Eötvös Loránd Faculty of State and Legal Sciences in 1978 and earned an MBA from Maastricht-Miskolc University in 1992. Dr. Gulás has also trained in Canada (Canada-Eastern European Lawyers Internship Program, 1990). Dr. Gulás is a contributing author for Oceana Publications. Dr. Gulás is a registered mediator (www.im.hu/fooldal/../frame.phtml). She was a partner at Law office No. 18 from 1982 until 1991, at which time she established her own firm. Dr. Grósz Katalin
PROFESSIONAL CAREER Dr. Katalin Grósz is a Hungarian attorney admitted to the Budapest Bar Association. Dr. Grósz received her JD, cum laude, from the Pécs Faculty of State and Legal Sciences in 1989. She worked at the Hungarian Ministry of Justice, where she was involved in the preparation of draft laws (company and civil law) from October 1991 until May 1993. In 1992, Dr. Grósz participated in a six-month training program at the legal department of the EU Commission in Brussels. She is a member of LIDC. She is author of several articles and frequent speaker at conferences in civil, corporate and commercial law areas. She associated with the Firm in 1993 and currently specializes in M&A, competition law, corporate finance, employment law, energy law and litigation. Dr. Patrick Tausz
PROFESSIONAL CAREER Dr. Patrick Tausz is a Hungarian attorney admitted to the Budapest Bar Association. Dr. Tausz received his JD, cum laude, from Eötvös Loránd Faculty of State and Legal Sciences in 1993. Dr. Tausz is co-author of various legal commentaries, including "The New Hungarian Company Law," (Eastern European Forum Newsletter, Spring 1998) and various articles on real property law and project finance, including "Cross Border Investments in Real Estate and its Financing" (AIJA 2004 Annual Congress in Naples). He associated with the Firm in March 1993. He specializes in corporate finance, project finance, real property law, including tax regulations relating to real estate transactions and litigation/arbitration. Dr. Tausz is fluent in English.
Dr. Orsolya Görgényi
PROFESSIONAL CAREER Dr. Orsolya Görgényi is a Hungarian attorney admitted to the Budapest Bar Association. She received her JD, summa cum laude, from Eötvös Loránd Faculty of State and Legal Sciences in 1998. She studied for one year in the United States as the recipient of a Soros Scholarship. She participates in postgraduate business consulting and supervision studies at the International Business School in co-operation with Oxford Brookes University. She is the author of a number of articles, has spoken at various seminars and is a member or holds a position in several Hungarian and international professional organizations (AIJA's National Representative in Hungary, HVCA, OME). Dr. Görgényi associated with the Firm in 1998. She currently specializes in M&A, corporate and competition law, is involved in intellectual property and advertising matters, and is active in business mediation utilizing the innovative techniques of supervision. PROFESSIONAL CAREER Dr. Gusztáv Bacher is a Hungarian attorney admitted to the Budapest Bar. He received his JD, summa cum laude, from Eötvös Loránd Faculty of State and Legal Science in 1998. Dr. Bacher is external lecturer at the University at the Department of Civil Law. He studied at the Faculty of Law in Vienna in 1997 and participated in the Post-Graduate Course on International Trade Law organized by the Asser Instituut, The Hague in 1999. He received his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in International Business Law at the Central European University (CEU) in 2001. Dr. Bacher is Secretary General of the Ligue Internationale du Droit de la Concurrence (LIDC) and in 2004 took the role as international rapporteur of LIDC on comparative advertising. Dr. Bacher is member of the Intellectual Property Expert Committee attached to the Hungarian Patent Office, the National Board Against Counterfeiting and Piracy (governmental advisory body), the board of the Hungarian Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright (MIE) as well as the Executive Committee of the Hungarian Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). Dr. Bacher has published various articles in the field of intellectual property, competition law, and advertising law, and is head of several working groups which prepare national reports for AIPPI and LIDC. PROFESSIONAL CAREER Dr. Hédi Bozsonyik is a Hungarian attorney admitted to the Budapest Bar Association. Dr. Bozsonyik is a member of the Hungarian section of the International League of Competition Law. Dr. Bozsonyik received her JD, cum laude, from Eötvös Loránd Faculty of State and Legal Sciences in 1993. Dr. Bozsonyik has also trained in Maastricht (The Netherlands) and she has completed a specialized post-graduate course in banking law. She is a member of LIDC. Dr. Bozsonyik is a contributing author for Oceana Publications and she is the author of a number of articles on employment and bankruptcy law and litigation/arbitration. He received his JD, cum laude, from Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Faculty of Legal and State Sciences in 2000. He participated in the Post-Graduate Course on International and European Union Affairs organized by Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Robert Schuman Institute, Budapest and the College of Europe, Bruges, Belgium in 1998. He worked at the Central and Eastern European Law Initiative of the American Bar Association from September 1998 until May 1999. Dr. Jásdi associated with the Firm in 1999. PROFESSIONAL CAREER Dr. Sándor Németh is a Hungarian attorney admitted to the Budapest Bar. He received his JD, cum laude, from University of Miskolc, Faculty of State and Legal Science in 2001. Dr. Németh has a BA diploma from the Budapest Business School (1997). He also attended the Summer Seminar on International Law and Human Rights at the University of Helsinki in 2000, and various trainings at the KPMG Academy Budapest, in 2003. Dr. Németh started his working experience as an associate at HR Department of AUDI Hungaria Motor Ltd (Gyõr, 1998-1999) and was an associate at Arday Law Firm (Budapest, 1999-2005) as well as assisted a legal transaction at JonesDay (London, May-June, 2003). Dr. Németh is president of the legal committee of the Hungarian Biotechnology Association. He is a guest lecturer at Pázmány Péter University - (Faculty of Law).
